Last night we paid another visit to the Drink Factory, the place where Tony Conigliaro, the man behind 69 Colebrooke Row and Zetter Townhouse makes his dreams a reality. We discovered how our tongues work, why sugar is vital, about the journey of the bee, why salt has no taste, why perfume changes with time… oh, and we tried a few new cocktails. If only chemistry lessons at school had been like this…
Amongst the drinks we tried were the Prairie Oyster (tomato yolk of clarified tomato juice, miso consomme, horseradish vodka, oloroso sherry, clarified celery juice, worcester sauce, homemade pepper sauce, red wine vinegar, garnished with micro herbs and shallots), Honeysuckle (pollen liqueur – Transylvanian pollen, honey, honeysuckle, topped with Champagne), Woodland Martini ( Beefeater 24, Amontillado Sherry, homemade woodland bitters) and Barbershop Fizz (pine infused Beefeater 24, birch and vanilla syrup, lime juice, patchouli infused mint sprigs, topped with soda). We advise you to head to 69 Colebrooke Row and do the same.
