
Now that Beefeater has announced its releasing a limited-edition gin for the colder months, we really can’t wait for winter. Shallow yes but thenagain, if it’s half as good as the wonderful Beefeater Summer launched earlier this year, we’ll be happy to curl up in front of the fire (ok, radiator), with a cup of the Winter edition in hand.
We have to wait until mid-October before we get our bottle but in the meantime, we’re told that the cinnamon, nutmeg and pine shoots botanicals, together with extra Seville orange peel, have been added to provide a distinctly seasonal feel, ideal to drink on its own over ice or blended into winter warming cocktails. Hot Apple Gin

A simple recipe that can easily be made for large groups
1 part Beefeater Winter Gin
3 parts warm apple juice
Glass:
Toddy cup or mug
Garnish:
Cinnamon stick and grating of nutmeg
Method:
Pour gin into the cup. Heat apple juice and add to the cup.
Garnish with a cinnamon stick and grating of nutmeg.
Winter Kir Royal

A seasonal twist on the classic Kir Royal – an ideal cocktail for celebrations
25ml Beefeater Winter Gin
25ml Sloe Gin
100ml Champagne or sparkling wine
Glass:
Champagne flute
Garnish:
Blood orange twist
Method:
Pour gins into a glass, top with champagne and garnish with a blood orange twist.
Winter Punch
Beefeater Winter gently warmed with Madeira and Christmas spices
50ml Beefeater Winter Gin
100ml Madeira
10ml Lemon juice
1 Teaspoon honey
1 Teaspoon brown sugar
1 Pinch cinnamon (ground)
1 Pinch nutmeg (ground)
1 Clove
Lemon twist
Orange twist
Glass:
Teacup or Toddy cup
Method:
In a saucepan, gently heat all ingredients – it is important not to let the mixture boil. Decant into teacups and serve.
