Some claim it was invented by restaurant owner Carlos Herrera to impress a showgirl. Others say it was dreamed up by the Dallas socialite Margaret Sames. No matter who come up with the winning formula for the classic Margarita, we’ll be celebrating its brilliance on National Margarita Day, Saturday 22nd February.
Don’t toast the occasion with any old Margarita, get involved with something truly special, something that really befits the occasion. Like the Mirror Margaritas on the menu at agaveria bar Hacha.

Co-founder Deano Moncrieffe has created five in total – the original award-winning tequila-based one, along with its Mezcal equivalent – both noted for their clarity, crispness and downright deliciousness – and three brand new variants, launching to coincide with National Margarita Day.
Like the two drinks that they’re related to, the Sparkling Mirror Margarita, Mirror Margarita Highball and Barrel-aged Mirror Margarita are agreeably tart, perfectly balanced and as clear as the mirror they take their name from.

Try them while you can, they’re only available for the next five weeks. Alternatively, make yours at home.
Here’s how:
Mirror Margarita
50ml Don Julio Blanco Tequila
20ml Hacha Sour Mix
1 spritz of citrus oils
Method:
Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass, fill with ice and stir to chill. Strain over cubed ice and garnish.
