We love our cocktails, (hey, the clue is in our name), but this week we’ll mostly be drinking wine. Blame it on our friends at DrinkUp.London. From today 23rd May, until Sunday 29th May they’ve got their London Wine Week hats on and have devised a corker of a calendar devoted to the grape stuff.
Take your pick from a programme full to bursting with fun and informative events including talks on wine label design and how it can influence the way we buy; wine workshops with experts such as Tim Atkin and Olly Smith; a crash course in food and wine pairing at the Wine Spirit Education Trust and tips on how to buy wine for dinner parties. Want to go gourmet? No probs. Choose from a series of wine-filled banquets hosted by Disappearing Dining Club or join the good folk at Vinoteca celebrate their tenth year. There’s more too, including daily masterclasses in the Nyetimber hub in Devonshire Square and the Aldi Wine Shop in Boxpark; a vermouth bar; tutored tastings; barbies and advice on building your wine cellar. And that’s just a taster of what’s on offer…
Whatever you choose to do – and believe us, there’s plenty to keep you busy, you’ll need to sign up for a wristband first. Not only does it give you access to £5 wine taster flights in select venues, it acts as your passport for discounts in more than 100 venues in the capital throughout the week as well.
Wristbands cost £10 and include a guide to the 125 participating venues throughout the week. Sign up now!
