Today is World Cocktail Day which means it’s the law to celebrate with a quality mixed beverage.
You might choose to mark the occasion by making a cocktail at home, or now that lockdown is lifting here in the UK, getting out to a bar with some outside space – Lord knows they need our support. We’ll be doing a hybrid of the two – enjoying drinks made by award-winning bartenders right here at Bar Stopatom (that’s bar stop at home to you).
Yes, we’ve all seen our fair share of bottled cocktails but these are special for a number of reasons.
One: They’ve been created by Ago Perrone and Giorgio Bargiani of one of our favourites, the Connaught Bar in London in association with another of our faves, Grey Goose Vodka.
Two: The cocktail in question is their fabulous No. 11 Martini.
Three: Like everything the team at the Connaught Bar do, quality is paramount. The ingredients combine a five-star blend of Connaught Gin bottled exclusively for the bar, Grey Goose Vodka, Martini Ambrato, Amalfi lemon oil and a blend of five carefully chosen bitters.
Four: This isn’t just a bottle, it’s a stunning limited-edition Martini Kit.
Five: Proceeds of all sales go to directly to the Saatchi Gallery Learning Programme.

What’s with the art thing you may be wondering? Good question and there’s a simple answer: the Connaught team drew inspiration from the visual arts for their No. 11 Martini – the expressionistic art of Jackson Pollock in particular. Like Pollock, they’ve gone for a number rather than a name for their work and like Pollock, they’ve gone for striking splashes of colour to showcase the canvas for their creativity, i.e. two beautiful, bespoke coupe glasses. The kit also comes with an elegant Grey Goose bar spoon and stirrer.
“As mixologists, imagination, innovation and individuality are key,” say Ago and Giorgio of the kit which goes on sale today. “We have spent years harnessing the power of creativity to celebrate mixology as a unique and personalised artform, and seeking inspiration in the different forms of art and crafts surrounding us. The No.11 martini cocktail is testament to this vision, so we are incredibly pleased to be able to give back to the art industry that helped us create this and many other cocktails. We hope you will enjoy our signature masterpiece in partnership with Grey Goose Vodka and join us in supporting Saatchi Gallery”.
The cocktail kits are available to purchase for a limited time exclusively via Saatchi Gallery for the bargain price of £100 – get yours here

And for even more of a treat, there are two very special ‘cocktail connoisseur’ editions priced at £1,000. These come with a hands-on, one-on-one mixology masterclass to learn the bespoke art of the Martini with Ago and Giorgio at the renowned Connaught Bar. The mixology masterclass offers groups the chance to enjoy delicious cocktails and indulge in canapes, while discovering tips and tricks from the best in the biz.
Happy World Cocktail Day.
