Cordials, syrups, sherbets, shrubs and superb Chivas serves to see you through the whole year.
Heading into spring this month’s Chivas Seasonal Serve from Josh Reynolds, Global Winner of the Chivas Masters Cocktail Competition 2015, is a real bracer of a cocktail.
Pomegranate shrub
“Pomegranate has a great flavour and is often underrated,” explains Josh. “And in this drink it works really well with the fruit notes from the Byrrh, the lovely touch of almond from the orgeat, and the Chivas underpinning everything.”
Ingredients:
300ml fresh pomegranate juice
280g caster sugar
40ml raspberry vinegar
Method:
Juice the pomegranate, add the caster sugar and stir to dissolve. Add the raspberry vinegar, stir and bottle.
Use it in the following:
45ml Chivas Regal 12 yo
15ml pomegranate shrub
10ml Byrrh
10ml lemon juice
12.5ml orgeat
Shake over ice and strain into a coupette glass.
