Flowers are nice and chocolates are always welcome but shall we tell you what your mum really, really deserves? All of those (plus lunch or dinner) and a well made cocktail. Get her to put her feet up and mix her up one (or two) of the following:

Blood Runs Thicker Than Water
45 ml Grand Marnier
45 ml freshly squeezed blood orange juice
A couple dashes orange bitters
150ml tonic water (to taste)
Method:
Fill a stirring glass with ice. Add Grand Marnier, blood orange juice, and orange bitters. Stir and strain into a coupe cocktail glass with some ice if desired. Top with tonic water and gently stir. Garnish with a blood orange slice and serve.
Hendrick’s Tea Time Jam & Tonic
40ml Hendrick’s Gin
1 tsp strawberry jam
2cm diced cucumber
Tonic water
Method:
Add ingredients to teacup without tonic. Stir until jam is dissolved, then infuse for a few moments before adding ice and topping with tonic.
Quintessentially Vodka Rhubarb Rickey
35ml Quintessentially Vodka
12.5ml rhubarb liqueur/syrup
12.5ml fresh lime
Soda (top up)
Method:
Place the vodka, rhubarb syrup and fresh lime in a tall glass, adding ice and a spritz of soda. To finish, stir a few times before adding a wedge of lime.

Fruity Muma
20ml Benedictine
15ml peach puree
15ml pineapple juice
10ml lemon juice
Top with Prosecco
Method:
Measure the Bénédictine, peach puree, pineapple juice and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker. Add lots of ice and shake vigorously for 4 seconds. Strain the liquid into a chilled Champagne flute then slowly top up the drink with Prosecco, stirring carefully to ensure all the ingredients are properly combined. Garnish with a lemon twist garnish or personalise by topping with your mum’s favourite fruit.
