There are more variations of the Martini cocktail than we care to mention. Not too dry this is a good version to kick off with.
Our tips:
Really go for a good quality gin. And remember, this drink really has to be served ice cold (we can’t stand it if a bar gets this wrong). For real depth of flavour, store your gin in the freezer and shove the glasses in there for an hour or so too. If you don’t have time, fill your martini glass with cold water and ice cubes to chill it quickly.
Ingredients:
2 ounces gin
½ ounce Dry vermouth
Lemon twist or green cocktail olive
Method:
Stir the gin and vermouth gently but thoroughly with plenty of ice in a mixing glass. Strain into your chilled martini glass. Run the lemon peel around the rim of the glass, squeeze it gently over the drink and drop it in, or add your olive.
