It’s that time of the year again. The RHS Chelsea Flower Show kicks off today (19th May) and what better way to celebrate than by having a drink or two? We’ve put together some of the best venues for the best occasions, all with concoctions ready to send your tastebuds into a blooming frenzy!
Treating mum:
Let’s face it, your mum could probably do with relaxing with a beautiful floral inspired libation. And with its selection of cocktails, all encapsulating the flower show theme, Manicomio Chelsea is just the place to take her.
She can kick back on the roof terrace with a Mad House Cooler, a blossoming vodka, gin and vermouth blend finished with cucumber, or she might prefer Amelia’s Aviator, a twist on the classic of gin and Cointreau with the addition of lavender and lychee. There’s also the Kentucky Summer containing Rittenhouse rye, fresh strawberries, basil and pineapple.
Sipping with your other half:
Kensington Place in Notting Hill have crafted two floral inspired cocktails, meaning you can get one each and swap to try both. The Daffodil cocktail is made with Fair Quinoa Vodka and Tenzan Yuzu liqueur shaken with Demerara sugar and fresh lemon juice, then garnished with a floating flower. The Grape Collins contains G’vine Floraison gin muddled with fresh green grapes and pressed apple juice, topped up with lemonade and garnished with an apple fan and flower. Or for why not try their selection of wines, all laced with floral notes?
Girl’s night:
Girl power! Friends forever! Oh come on ladies, we all remember chanting those phrases with our besties! Luckily for us, Barts on Sloane Avenue is going all ‘Flower Power’ for the Chelsea Flower Show. Vincenzo Sibilia will be presenting the Flower of Brazil cocktail, an exotic blend of Cachaca, rose liqueur, violet liqueur, lemon, cardamom, chilli, sugar syrup and a dash of egg white, served over ice in a tall Boston glass and garnished with a caramelised flower.
Oh and don’t forget the fancy dress box which will be there for you and the girls to dress in your favourite hippie flares. The Cuban Garden is also re-opening – which makes it the perfect spot for a good old girly gossip and catch up.
