We won’t lie, you can’t beat actually being in Trinidad soaking up the delights of the world famous carnival but the upcoming House of Angostura comes pretty close.
Held in the stunning three-storey TT Liquor, the not-to-be-missed event brings the tastes, colours and exotic vibes of 1900s Trinidad to funky Dalston for one special day of immersive experiences designed to captivate the mind and stimulate all of the senses.
Feast your eyes on the amazing walk-in Butterfly House, a visual delight curated by Luke Brown as a testament to the 615 beauties in the Barcant Butterfly Collection at the Angostura Museum in Trinidad. Sounds come courtesy of the calypso beats which will be playing throughout the day and also at the after-party held downstairs in the secret cellar bar, while a masterclass with Angostura UK Brand Ambassador Sean Duprey is guaranteed to get everyone hands-on, making cocktails at home.
There’ll be a mouthwatering array of traditional ‘Trinny’ street food too including delicacies such as salt fish accra, peppered prawns and pleurae. And no good party would be complete without a selection of first-class drinks… As you might expect, Trinidad’s finest export, Angostura Rum plays a leading role in the taste department with an exquisite menu of cocktails created to showcase the selection of rums, bitters and amaro in the portfolio. Expect the likes of the Queens Park Swizzle and of course, the Trinidad Sour.
Tickets are a bargain at £25, to include three drinks, food, entertainment, entrance to the Butterfly Museum and the after-party. Get yours now, they won’t hang around for long…
