We make no pretence about our love affair with The Clumsies. Ever since visiting their eponymous bar soon after it opened in Athens late 2014, they’ve never failed to amaze us with their boundless energy, unfaltering enthusiasm and genuine dedication to the cocktail cause. And did we mention their ideas? These guys are full of them. Always fun, clever and original; always shining a light on the Athens bar scene, just when we think they’ve surpassed themselves, along they come with something more adventurous than before.
Next month is a case in point. In just four days, from 6th to 10th of November to be precise, the team will be packing in not one, not two but seven pop-up bars, bringing the unique tastes of Copenhagen, Mexico and Asia to the Greek capital. Budget not up to checking out the best bars in Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai? No problem, get yourself over to Athens and The Clumsies and World Class will bring them to you – they’re even adding a touch of Scandi cool into the offering as well. Each evening the downstairs bar will be taken over by a different award-winning bar – prepare for your tastebuds to be amazed. Drum roll as we announce the guest list please…

• 9th November – Quinary, Hong Kong
• 10th November – Speak Low, Shanghai
If that wasn’t enough, throughout the week The Room upstairs will play host to Ruby from Copenhagen (book ahead). Which begs the question, where will The Clumsies be while all of these international guests are running the show? Don’t worry, they’ll be rolling their sleeves up and getting the drinks out but in a different location. You’ll find them in the grounds of the Athens Bar Show on 8th and 9th November where they’ll be serving mezcal based cocktails from their Mexican inspired pop-up the Palmitas which they debuted at the same time last year.
