In A Nutshell

Highly spirited gin distilled in the heart of England’s Black Country then blended with glacial water from Iceland.

TCL RATING

What They Say

“England distilled, Iceland chilled. ” “A gin born of love, obsession and some degree of madness.”

What We Say:

Ms S says

If MM was a sports star, it would probably be Mike Tyson – man, it sure does pack a mighty punch. It’s dry, almost bitter on the palate, thanks to a nice dollop of angelica and orris root, while the juniper goes straight for the jugular. There’s also a crisp citrus tang coming through, followed by warming, verging on peppery spice notes. It’s big, bold and unapologetically powerful, one to be filed in the ‘man’s’ gin category. Bartenders will love it, too.

Mr G says

Wow, this is some big old gin. From the aroma, through the taste and on to the finish, it’s big, big, big. I particularly like its marked dryness which has almost earthy taste , whilst it slyly slips in some subtle sweetness towards the end. It also brings something new to a Dry Martini thanks to that dryness making for a bang-on aperitif. It’s the kind of spirit that makes me want to try it in few favourites to see what happens. Right, bring on that Negroni, Aviation, French 75…

Fun Fact

Prior to taking on the task of making his own gin Mr Martin Miller was already running a string of boutique hotels and publishing his Miller’s Companion to Antiques & Collectables. And if that wasn’t enough he’s now exhibiting his own art installations and sculptures.

  1. This one of my very favourite gins, and that martini is my favourite way to drink it. Do you recommend any particular olives for martinis?? Though partial to obregons from Waitrose, I’m always up for an experiment.

    1. We usually drink our martinis with a twist but we’ve been pleasantly surprised by the addition of a blue cheese-filled olive. Try it and let us know what you think

  2. I have to say this is also my absolute favourite gin. Though I don’t get the macho overtones in it that you do. I find it far more subtle, in a good way, than say the full juniper of a Beefeater or Gordons. I saw Rachels comments too and I’m with her on the olives, particularly Obregons. My beef is why can’t I get my Millers at Waitrose too?
