New Year’s Eve Roundup – Places to enjoy cocktails in London

ByCocktail Lovers

Ah, New Year’s Eve – a chance for glitter, glamour, and seeing in 2018 with cocktails and Champagne. And yet how many of us leave it so late that we end up frantically sending group WhatsApps and stressing about where to be when the clock chimes midnight? Worry no more, as we’ve rounded up five places to spend December 31st… whether it be channelling Cuban revelry, Prohibition-era Chicago, the vibrant fun of Vegas, 1970s Studio 54 shenanigans or a bejewelled bar in Chinatown…

For a Cuban Knees-Up

Bar Swift

A night of Caribbean glamour comes to Soho this NYE as Bar Swift host a NYE party to remember in partnership with Havana Club and Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut. Expect to be transported to the streets of Havana, where the rum flows freely and the music keeps people dancing, as music is provided by the soul-shaking trio The Sugar Kings, playing a heady mix of Son Montuno, Salsa, Bolero Cha Cha Cha, Mambo and Afro-Cuban jazz.

Guests will be able to enjoy a special menu of Havana Club rum cocktails, with a selection of Caribbean canapés making the rounds through the night, and will also be treated to two glasses of Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut, one on arrival and one at midnight to bring in the new year.

Tickets £100 pp, available from Design My Night
Includes a menu of Havana Rum cocktails, two glasses of Perrier-Jouet Champagne, house wine, beer, spirits and canapés.

For Swinging Chicago

Uncle Bart’s Speakeasy

Channe lyour inner gangster or moll and spend the night sipping on all kinds of lawless liquor, including bottomless beer, wine and Belvedere vodka cocktails – and keep your energy up with bacon butties at midnight!

With both bar and table tickets available, travel back to 1930’s Chicago with a group of friends to ring in the New Year in the best possible way.

For a taste of Sin in the City

Welcome in 2018 with a touch of Vegas craziness as The Square Mile meets Sin City this New Year’s Eve at Madison.

Anyone feeling lucky can try their hand at croupier tables, or make memories with a Paparazzi wall, and entertainment will be laid on, Vegas-style, in the form of show girls and podium dancers. Not feeling dazzling enough when midnight approaches? There will even be glitter girls on hand to give you your very own touch of Vegas glitz.

DJ Dan Healy will be seeing you through until 3am with all the tunes you need to start off 2018 with a bang – and one of the massive draws is of course that famous Madison rooftop. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better view of London’s NYE fireworks!

For the disco grooves of Studio 54

Bobby Fitzpatrick

Dig out the bodysuits and velvet flares – it’s time to channel the legendary disco groove of New York’s most famous nightclub, Studio 54, as Bobby Fitzpatrick in West Hampstead throws open its doors for a nostalgic New Year‘s Eve house party.

Dressing up is encouraged as you head to this 1970s-inspired pad for a night of DJs playing retro tunes throughout the night, Stayin’ Alive falsettos, and Saturday Night Fever dance moves are a must. And since everyone knows there’s only one place to be really be seen at house parties, head to Bobby’s yellow wallpapered ‘kitchen’ for a slice of thick crust Smoked Turkey and Sage Stuffing Pizza, all washed down with a Snow Ho Ho slushy or a glass of potent sharing punch.
