Things we’re looking forward to this week…

We’re purposely going for a quieter one this week as the female side of this duo is detoxing. Yes, you heard right, we’re both shocked too. It’s going to be tough as Ms S will be doing freshly-squeezed juices and herbal drinks while Mr G will be getting his vitamins from fruit-based daiquiris and the lemon twist from his customary martinis…
Things will get really interesting when we hit the Jub Jub at Callooh Callay for the Plymouth gin food matching evening on Tuesday. If you see any clear liquid in Ms S’s glass, rest assured it will be nothing more toxic than H2oh-dear-how-boring…
Wednesday should be a little easier as it’s a girly gathering at The Beauty Queens in Spitalfields. Even if she can’t enjoy the cocktails and cupcakes on offer, Ms S can at least console herself with a treatment… Thursday is the launch night of the Disaronno Film Series with Lauren Laverne on the rooftop of the Queen of Hoxton, let’s hope for sunshine or at the very least, dry weather… There may well be more film fun on Friday as we’ve been invited to the first ever Talisker Sail in Cinema in the middle of the sea at Cowes in the Isle of Wight. With a fireworks and a Red Arrow display it promises to be quite the event, let’s just hope we can find a hotel…
Words to the wise…
Due to its ‘Geographical Indication’, Plymouth Gin has and will always be crafted at Black Friars Distillery in Plymouth. The building is a former priory constructed in 1431 and has been used as a distillery since 1793 making it the oldest working English distillery.
