What it is: Good Things to Drink
Who it’s by: Internationally renowned and multi award-winning bartender and bar owner Ryan Chetiyawardana.
What they say: Just like good food, good things to drink turn great occasions into incredible ones – they bring people together, add sparkle to gatherings and make ordinary catch-ups extraordinary. And they needn’t be laborious or complex. Ryan Chetiyawardana (the man behind the White Lyan and Dandelyan bars in London) takes the fuss out of creating impressive cocktails at home with drinks for any get-together, from lazy brunches to spontaneous summer parties.
Why we love it: It has all kinds of drinks for all sorts of occasion. While there are plenty of the fabulous and familiar such Americanos, Manhattans and Bellinis, it’s the sheer creativity of the countless and delicious twists like Hot Buttered Gin and Death by Julep that got us reaching for our glassware. There are lots of lots lovely touches too, such as the sharing Bottled Cosmo, the ramble-inspired Hunter’s Flask and some fantastic new G & T variations like the Tiki G & T and G & Tea. The book’s also beautifully brought to life with lifestyle photography and charming illustrations (by the author).
Our favourite serve: The sublime Chocolate Wine – every bit as delicious as it sounds.
