What’s the story: The Thin Man is a 1934 comedy-mystery based on the novel by Dashiell Hammett starring William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora Charles a super glamorous couple who solve a murder, exchange whip sharp banter and solve a murder, all while drinking a lot of classic cocktails.
Why we love it: Never mind the plot (such as it is) sit back and enjoy the crime solving antics of the wonderful Nick and Nora Charles. Just six minutes in you’re in for a masterclass from Nick on how to shakes Martinis and Manhattans to different dances, joined shortly by the lovely and sassy Nora who matches him in every wisecrack as well as drink for drink.
