If you’re anything like us, Sundays are take-the-phone-off-the-hook-and-cosy-up-at-home days – it takes something pretty damned special to get us to even open the front door. We will be making an exception to our anti-social behaviour this weekend though. An afternoon of creativity, cocktails, conviviality and comedy in the none-too-shabby setting of The Club at The Ivy sure beats the EastEnders omnibus and Sunday Brunch.
Themed around Art & Design, the upcoming Sunday Wise session is guaranteed to get the week off to the perfect start. Gentle enough not to interfere with the regular pace of this most sacred of days but packed with enough action to make you feel just a little bit superior to those who haven’t been smart enough to get in on the act, the event takes in talks from the always inspiring Julia Peyton-Jones from the Serpentine Gallery and artist Jonathan Yeo. Then it’s lunch accompanied by pianists and vocalists (but not too loud – you’ll obviously have plenty to discuss), followed by comedy to get you in a jovial mood for Monday.
All this and a welcoming Ultimate G&T from Bombay Sapphire – it sure sounds like the perfect Sunday to us. And wait until you hear the cost: just a mere £25 to include your drink and entertainment – now that’s what we call a January sale. Limited tickets available.
Sunday Wise, from 12.30pm on Sunday 2 February at The Club at The Ivy, 9 West Street, London WC2H 9NE.
