Okay, it’s day one of Tales of the Cocktail on Tour in Edinburgh with registration taking place tomorrow. Over the next few days we’ll be casting an eye over the goings on and picking out one or two of the things we think you shouldn’t miss.
Today we’ll be easing ourselves in at the Branca Breakfast and heading over to Hoot the Redeemer for the Southern Comfort Dynamic Duo.
Branca Breakfast
What better way to get Tales on Tour started than the Branca Breakfast? Taking place at laid back bar and restaurant Voyage of Buck it’s the perfect place to stimulate your appetite for the days ahead with the classic Italian aperitif Fernet Branca. Complimentary for the first 150 bartenders who collect Tales of the Cocktail tickets. Voyage of Buck will also be serving a Branca Cocktail menu throughout the festival. Hosted by World Ambassador, Nicola Olianas.

Created by Bernandino Branca in Milan, Italy, in 1845, Fernet Branca has been made to the same secret recipe ever since. Southern Comfort
Southern Comfort and Hoot the Redeemer are bringing the Spirit of New Orleans to Edinburgh. Kicking off Tales of the Cocktail in true Southern style with cocktails, live music and Southern inspired food. Hoot’s own Cara Watson and Evan Wolf of New Orleans, will be teaming up to showcase some epic cocktails for The Hoot ‘N’ Orleans Dynamic Duo.

Southern Comfort is an icon. Created in 1874 it was the result of bartender Martin Wilkes Heron’s desire to smooth out the harsh whiskies of the time. Adding his favourite fruits and spices he named the mixture… Cuffs & Buttons. Turned out this was hard to say so he changed it to Southern Comfort and it’s been on the label ever since. But for many people for over 100 years it’s known simply as “The Grand Old Drink of the South”.
