There are soooo many great podcasts out there at the mo’ but we’ve become hooked on one in particular. It’s called Hospitality Forward – do yourself a favour and subscribe to it now and thank us later. Created by Hanna Lee and Michael Anstendig, President and Editor in Chief respectively at the multi-award-winning New York-based communications agency Hanna Lee Communications, the podcast is an incredibly empowering response to the exceptional challenges facing the hospitality and travel industry due to the pandemic. And it’s been a must-listen for us since its launch in August last year.
Consider it a tonic in spoken word form. During the 30 or-so minute chats, Hanna and Michael set out to offer support and solutions for those in the industry by gaining essential insights from some of the greatest minds in food, beverage and travel media.
So far they’ve interviewed the crème de la crème of journalists from across the United States, including the likes of Robert Simonson, Cocktail and Bar Writer for the New York Times, PUNCH and Imbibe; Jeff Gordinier, Food and Drinks Editor at Esquire; Rachel King, Books and Lifestyle Editor at Fortune, and Wendy Gillette, anchor of CBS News Radio.
So it was a huge pleasure and honour for us to be invited to join Hanna and Michael as their first international guests. In the podcast we chat about everything from how The Cocktail Lovers came about and what it’s like to work together, to our love of cocktail culture and our passion for celebrating the bar industry. We also talk about running an independent publication and keeping The Cocktail Lovers Magazine upbeat and positive during the challenges of the pandemic and how we want to keep hearing from the international bar community.
