What are Bank Holidays for, if not for over-indulging and getting your drink on?

This Easter weekend is no exception, and we’ve found two indulgent recipes to make those extra days off work that extra bit more special. You can try them in the select London locations or alternatively, if you want to indulge from the comfort of your home, we’ve managed to get our greedy paws on the recipes.

Crème Egg Mojito

Oh crikey. Just look at it. It’s indulgent, inventive, and allows you to put an adult twist on your favourite childhood treat. Ever wished your Crème Egg had a bit more Bacardi, or vice versa? Well, your wish is the grown-up Easter Bunny’s command!

You will need:

  • 25ml Bacardi Carta Blanca
  • 25ml Marie Brizzard Chocolate Syrup
  • Sprig of mint
  • 25ml 1:1 Gomme (simple syrup)
  • Dash of lime juice
  • 25ml of soda
  •  1 Cadbury’s Crème Egg
  • Crushed ice

Method:

Crush mint and place in glass with other ingredients. Stir with crushed ice, top with more ice and garnish with 1/2 egg and mint.

The Crème Egg Mojito is available at Late Night London locations across the city and at Tiger Tiger locations nationwide from March 14th through the Bank Holiday weekend. Go on, treat yourself!

Not Cross Bun Gin Martini

Now this one is much more sensible, but still absolutely delicious. Combiningg two British institutions, Portobello Road Gin and the humble hot cross bun, this creative cocktail is a sophisticated Easter delight. Top marks for presentation, too.

You will need:

  • 50mls Portobello Road Gin
  • 12.5mls raisin-infused dry vermouth

Method:

Stir with ice and strain into a cocktail glass which has been seasoned with Hot Cross Bun tincture. Garnish with a lemon cross.

The ‘Not Cross Bun Gin Martini’ is available to enjoy this Easter at the Portobello Star, Notting Hill and Blind Pig, Soho across Easter weekend (Thursday 24th March – Tuesday 29th March), and other select bars across London. We’ll have a baker’s dozen, please!
