Like Glastonbury is to mud-loving music lovers, the Riverboat Food Fest is to anyone who takes what they eat and drink extremely seriously – in other words, it’s an absolute no-brainer of a must-do.
Forget Sir Bruce Forsyth on stage (really, forget Sir Bruce Forsyth on stage) and tune into gourmet delights from 15 of London’s finest street food vendors. We’re talking the bestest chicken wings from The Orange Buffalo, 48-day aged peppered Longhorn beef from Burger Bear, melt-in-the-mouth delicious slow-cooked smoked pulled pork from Turner & Roast, and inventive, calorie-busting, almost sinful desserts like the ‘Frozen Elvis on a Stick’ from Batch Bakery. To wash it all down? Classy cocktails, cool all-natural sodas and top-notch coffees and teas of course.

And if you are feeling a little miffed that you’re missing the likes of the Rolling Stones, Chic AND Nile Rodger, Dizzee Rascal, Solange, Stevie Winwood and Laura Mvula over in Somerset, console yourself with the fact that this three day shindig from Twentysomethinglondon won’t be too shabby on the music front either. Shake a leg to top DJ sets from Young & Lost Club, Morten Jensen and Live & Unamplified. And when it’s all over you can go home. To sleep. In your bed.
Take that and stick it in your comedy pipe Glastos.
#RiverboatFoodFest runs from 27-29 June at Tamesis Dock, Albert Embankment, SE1 7TP. Tickets cost £25 for 5-courses, cocktails £5 each. Two sittings: 6.45pm and 9.30pm.
