So here we are in sunny (ish) Rio and it’s day two of the World Class Global Finals. Fifty countries are battling it out in the four day extravanza – with contestants from Australia to Vietnam, Austria to Taiwan all doing their darnedest to take the World Class title home.
So far we’ve seen some pretty awesome performances from our own Andy Mil from the London Cocktail Club who dazzled the judges with his John Travolta-esque white suit get-up (bonus points for not managing to spill anything over it!), killer drinks and trademark chirpy banter. Tim Philips from Australia did his unique version of a takeaway warm punch by adding the ingredients to a bag and heating it up in a microwave – genius. Meanwhile, Dennis Zoppi from Italy looks like one to watch – his combination of artistry, flair, passion and charm make him a very hot tip. We’re also hearing great things about Ricky Gomez from US – we’ll be checking him out later.
Today is crunch time: after the two remaining challenges are done and dusted, the fab 50 will be whittled down to a super 16. And from the performances we’ve seen for – it’s sure gonna be tough. Nail biters you have been warned…
