January _ a chance for new starts, new resolutions, and new plans… which may well include shiny new things. After all, who doesn’t love a spot of redecorating to change things up a little? Or promise themselves to be more adventurous with the drinks offerings when guests come round? With this in mind, we’ve rounded up some of our Wish List items for 2018 – how many would you like to get your hands on?

THE DRINKS TROLLEY

Odyssey Bar Trolley

The gorgeous Odyssey Drinks Trolley from Atkin & Thyme is not only functional (no more cluttering your favourite tipples on that narrow shelf – hello New Year resolution to be more tidy!), but also adds the wow-factor to any room. Made from hand forged iron with a brass plated finish, it has glass and marble shelves and channels the glamour of the 1920s with its Art Deco feel.

Buy it at www.atkinandthyme.co.uk/odyssey-bar-trolley for £299.00

THE COCKTAIL CHAIR

Bartholomew Vintage Style Cocktail Chair

A little history lesson: the Bartholomew cocktail chairs were produced in Germany in the 1950s, with tapered legs typical of the period, and a plain curved back that was designed to ‘hug’ you as you reclined (with a Gibson, naturally, or perhaps an Old Fashioned). Now cocktail chairs make beautiful focal points for rooms, as well as the perfect place to perch when enjoying your home-mixed libation. This one from Galapagos Furniture, available from Not On The High Street, is one of the prettiest we’ve seen with its Aesop Fable Green velvet from Linwood and piping in Matara Sienna orange faux leather from Designers Guild. In fact, it’s almost too stunning to sit on…

THE BEAUTIFUL BOTTLE

Cointreau Golden Age limited Edition

Oooh, how pretty! Our favourite orange liqueur has been given a gorgeous makeover in homage to l’Age d’Or des cocktails – or the Golden Age of Cocktails, as you might know it. This limited-edition bottle has been given a glorious Art Deco twist with the curves and geometry that channel the era of artistic and cultural dynamism that was the Roaring Twenties. Making a Sidecar or a White Lady just got significantly more fancy.

Cointreau Golden Age limited Edition is available to purchase exclusively at Selfridges for £29.99.

THE BAR ACCESSORY

Cocktail Jigger & Spoon Set

Add a bit of tropical fun to your cocktail making collection with this cute jigger and spoon set, designed to harness days by the beach, garden parties, and piña coladas. What’s not love? Featuring a palm tree and that fruit of hospitality, the pineapple, this duo in metallic rose gold and gold with a hammered finish are packaged in a jade green gift box, so are ideal for gifting if you’ve got a cocktail loving friends who needs a pressie.

Buy it at www.oliverbonas.com for £23

THE MORNING-AFTER SAVIOUR

Bloody Ben’s Bloody Mary Mix

After the intensity of December, it’s normal to promise yourself you’ll never drink again – but sadly don’t think hangovers in 2018 are going to get any easier. So be prepared with this awesome ready-made Bloody Mary mix. No more scrabbling round for Tabasco and Worcestershire Sauce – this unique spicy, herby mix promises a spot-on hangover cure each time, just add tomato juice and vodka. Perfected at everyone’s favourite neighbourhood brunch spot, Ben’s Canteen, it will help make that morning after a joy rather than a chore.

Bloody Bens can be purchased from both Ben’s Canteens as well as Borough Box and Serious Pig online. For other stockists, please visit the website here.

THE GLASSWARE SET

Soho Home Martini Cocktail Set

Anyone who’s visited to one of the Soho houses or hotels, or perhaps had a tipple at Dean Street Townhouse or Café Monico, will know that half the joy of ordering a mMartini is the stunning glassware it appears in. Soho House have evidently cottoned onto this love of their fancy receptacles, as you can now buy items from their Soho Home range. These two glasses are mouth-blown and hand-cut in the UK from fine 24% lead crystal – the same designs used in all of the Soho House bedrooms. What’s more, they come with a pre-mixed Martini cocktail, so you can start to channel your inner movie star as soon as you open the gorgeous gift box.
