Bartenders: Show your support for Movember with Buffalo Trace

Bartenders, how will you be showing up for Movember this year? Whether you’re one of the millions around the world proudly growing a Mo to save a bro, or you’re looking for a way for your bar to share the Movember love, Buffalo Trace is with you every step of the way.

Before we get to the how, let’s start with the why. Everyone should play some part in Movember. What started out in 2003 as 30 people in Australia growing (then unfashionable) moustaches (or ‘Mo’s’ as they’re known in Oz) to raise awareness and vital funds for men’s cancer and suicide prevention charities, has grown into the leading men’s health charity in the world.

Did you know:

  • Testicular cancer rates have doubled in the last 50 years
  • Prostate cancer rates will double over the next 15 years
  • Across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day
  • Suicide is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 

Mental health, suicide prevention and prostate and testicular cancer – Movember was set up to address all of these issues – not only by raising awareness but vital funds as well.

Buffalo Trace is proud to be supporting this very important cause with shared values of honest conversations about challenging the status quo of men’s health, through a series of bar activations taking place nationwide. If you’re a bartender planning to sport a Mo this month, take advantage of the complimentary wet shaves to prepare for the mighty moustache that will be furnishing your face over the next few weeks. At Lord’s Barbering in Leeds, the shaves will be accompanied by a free Buffalo & Sparkling Apple Highball and they’re also running a competition for the best Mo, so be sure to get involved.

That’s the personal side of things, for bars wishing to be part of the month-long activity, why not sign up for the POS packs containing Movember tent cards and orange moustache cutters for your garnishes? Customers wishing to support the cause are being encouraged to visit participating bars, where their Buffalo Trace Old Fashioneds will be served with a moustache-shaped orange peel twist, natch. Participating venues are encouraged to spread the word by tagging @BuffaloTraceUK and #GrowAMoWithBuffalo to be with a chance to be featured on Buffalo Trace’s Instagram page

And there’s more: Buffalo Trace has launched The Great Movember Giveaway, a corker of a competition for consumers with a host of fabulous prizes up for grabs. And when we say fabulous, we really mean it: hello seven-night Ultimate Outdoor American Adventure trip for four people to the USA, plus £1,000 spending money! Or how about a BBQ session at the Buffalo Trace BBQ School in Hertfordshire? There’s plenty more where those came from, including Weber ‘Smokey Joe’ Portable barbies, bottles of Buffalo Trace, Eagle Rare and Sazerac Rye and Movember donations,  

It’s all part of the Buffalo Trace’s commitment to the Movember Foundation, a commitment to making a lasting impact on men’s health.
