Martini lovers take note: there’s a new must-try model in town. Prepare your palates for The Langham Martini, sexy to look at and absolutely beautiful to taste, we can’t think of a better drink to celebrate World Gin Day on 9th June…
Everything about it says class. From the ice cold Tanqueray No. TEN gin used as the base spirit through to the Nocellara Del Belice DOC olives macerated with Tanqueray No. TEN botanicals served on the side, each teeny detail has been considered to elevate this classic cocktail to a higher level.
Take the little matter of vermouth for instance. Here customers can choose from one of five expressions, each created exclusively for Artesian by Martini Master Ivano Tonutti. Inspired by key flavours from iconic cities around the world theres ‘Tokyo’ (yuzu and green tea), ‘New York’ (green apples and canella), ‘Paris’ (lavender, Mediterranean herbs and anise), ‘Milan’ (espresso, saffron and almonds) and ‘London’ (rhubarb and elderflower). Ms S is rather taken with the ‘Tokyo’ while Mr G favours the ‘London.’ That said, they’re all extremely good – we know, we worked our way through the lot of them.

That’s the taste department taken care of, now on to the aesthetics… They say that looks aren’t everything but really, who are they kidding? This cool model knocks spots off the competition thanks to the specially commissioned detachable silver vessel which allows drinkers to experience their martini at the perfect ice-cold temperature. It’s gorgeous with a capital ‘G’.
The Langham Martini is priced at £16.50 from Artesian Bar, The Langham, 1c Portland Place, W1B 1JA. T: 020 7636 1000. london.langhamhotels.co.uk.
