And as it went under the hammer for £26,124, we think Legacy by Angostura is definitely worth writing about…
The decanter alone is probably worth a few thousand pounds. Not only is it a thing of exceptional beauty, it took ten different Master Craftsmen at Royal Warrant Holders Asprey of London 56 hours to create.
Then there’s the spirit inside (if only we could ever get to taste it…) It took Angostura’s Master Distiller John Georges and his team six years to make the magic happen. That’s six years for the seven rare and precious rums to harmonise in that special way that only carefully selected blends left to age in once used American oak barrels can.
The spirit was always destined for greatness. Which it achieved as Sieunarine Coosal, executive chairman of Coosal Group parted with £26,124 to make it the most expensive rum ever purchased. All proceeds go to the National Centre for Persons with Disabilities in Trinidad
Angostura’s Master Distiller John Georges said, “This has been a highly anticipated event for us at Angostura. Six years of hard work and patience has been building up to this very point. It makes it all worthwhile knowing that someone who respects our craft will be enjoying this special rum.”
