It ain’t easy being the first competitor in a line-up of 27, even harder when you’re kicking off the semi-finals of the most eagerly awaited cocktail competition of the year. We’re at the Bacardi Legacy Global Cocktail Competition in Moscow and our boy from Blighty, Tom Walker was numero uno in more ways than one.
If he was nervous, you’d never have guessed it – he did himself, his team at The American Bar at The Savoy and his fellow supporters oh-so very proud. His presentation of his ‘Maid in Cuba’ cocktail was as slick as you like – calm, reassured and stylish, setting the bar extremely high for the remaining 26 contestants who will be showcasing their Bacardi Legacy cocktails today.
For some, it’s taken 18 months of hard work to get to this stage – we’ll find out the eight who make it through to the Finals at a lavish Golden Age of Cocktail themed dinner this evening.
