When we were kids Bonfire Night was the third biggest event on our calendar after Christmas and birthdays, so we still get the teensiest bit excited on November 5th. It’s not just seeing the sky lit up with fireworks or the smoky delights of sausages and baked potatoes cooked on the bonfire, these days we’re rather partial to a wonderfully warming cocktail to stave off the cold…
Try this delicious concoction combining cherries, ginger ale, a nice hit of citrus and wonderfully warming Courvoisier to ensure your evening goes with a bang.
Courvoisier Fuse Explosion
25ml Courvoisier VS
8ml Grenadine syrup
12.5ml cherry liqueur
30ml fresh pineapple juice
30ml fresh grapefruit juice
50ml ginger ale
Lemon slice
Pineapple chunk
Method:
Add the Courvoisier, syrup, liqueur and juices to a freshly iced tumbler, top with ginger ale and mix well. Serve with a lemon slice and pineapple chunk.
Or keep it cool and colourful with this pink-tinged melange blending raspberries, whipping cream and Benedictine, created by Shaker BarSchool UK.

Firework Fizz
50ml Benedictine
6 British raspberries
1 drop orange blossom water
1 fresh medium egg white
15 ml whipping cream
1 bar spoon caster sugar
50ml cold soda water
Method:
Crush the raspberries and sugar in a Boston mixing glass before adding the egg white and fresh lemon juice. Next, add the Benedictine and orange blossom water, followed by the cream. Add ice to fill the glass, shake hard for 15 seconds. Fine strain the drink into hi-ball glass, which has been filled with the cold soda water, ensuring that all the frothy egg white passes through without the seeds from the raspberries or any ice. Garnish with a single raspberry and lemon twist.
