Maths isn’t really our strong point but one equation we can work out without counting on our fingers is: great music + fab cocktails = the perfect evening. No wonder Live Music Nights at The Roof Gardens is currently top of our fave things to do at the weekend list…
We won’t lie, it takes a lot to get us over to Kensington but the mention of Tanqueray cocktails combined with handpicked up-and-coming live bands worked a treat. The venue was a big draw, too. There isn’t anywhere quite like it. True, there is a very faint whiff of Joan Collins in The Stud about it; that said The Roof Gardens credentials are pretty impressive. We’re talking three themed gardens 105 ft above Ken High Street and the occasional sighting of a pink flamingo.

The Live Music bit is set away from the main building in a delightful new marquee in the Tudor garden. The look and feel is akin to a really cool wedding where the hosts have the nouse to organise great entertainment and instead of bog standard fizz, have upped the ante with cracking cocktails. The music got our toes tapping and the drinks made us thank God it was Friday – looking around us, we think the feeling was pretty universal.

The Live Music Sessions take place every Friday and Saturday until the end of March. Cocktails (including the two recipes below) are served at the Tanqueray Bar throughout the evening. Tickets, £15 in advance, £20 on the door.
